INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Submission of your abstract for Oral & Poster presentations and young scientists award sessions

(Please note that the candidates who submit abstract for young scientists award session, must also submit 4 hardcopies of the full paper to the Organizing Secretary, otherwise the submission will not be considered for young scientists award session)

  • 1. The presenting author should be a member of NSI (Annual/Life) or should have applied for membership.
  • 2. The presentation should be made in English.
  • 3. It is the author's responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific facts in the abstract text will be reproduced as typed by the author.
  • 4. The person submitting an abstract is assumed to be the presenting author. Abstract acceptances will apply only to this person and are not transferable to co-authors. The presenting author must register for the conference.
  • 5. Submissions by fax, post or email will not be considered.
  • 6. The final deadline to submit the abstract is .

  • 9. Categories for young scientist’s award session are as indicated below:
    - Junior Award in Experimental Nutrition
    - Junior Award in Community Nutrition
    - Senior Award in Experimental Nutrition
    - Senior Award in Community Nutrition
  • 10. Title of the abstract is limited to 30 words.
  • 11. The structure abstract text body is limited to 350 words.
  • 12. The abstracts should necessarily be structured and follow the following format:
    Background: Indicate the purpose and objective of the research, the hypothesis that was tested or a description of the problem being analyzed or evaluated;
    Material & Methods: Describe the setting/location for the study, study design, study population, data collection and methods of analysis used;
    Result: Present as clearly and detailed as possible the findings/outcome of the study, with specific results in summarized form.
    Conclusion: Briefly discuss the data and main outcome of the study.
  • 13. No graphs/images/tables should be included in the abstract.
  • 14. After submission of the abstract the presenting author will receive a valid unique abstract ID to the registered email. Please note down this number carefully for further communications. Authors are requested to check their email regularly for updates.
  • 15. All abstracts submitted for oral and poster sessions will go through a review by a panel of scientific committee. Abstracts submitted for oral presentation, if not selected for oral presentation, will be considered for poster presentation. Abstracts not suitable even for poster presentation will be rejected.
  • 16. All the Abstracts submitted for young scientist’s award session, will be tied with their full papers (which are sent by post) and sent to the panel of judges for scrutiny. Paper submitted for young scientist’s award session, if not short listed, will be considered for poster presentation. Paper not suitable even for poster presentation will be rejected.
  • 17. Your abstract, if accepted, will appear in the abstract book / souvenir / proceedings of the conference which are distributed to all delegates during the conference either hardcopy or soft copy.
